ACCOUNTING
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Based in our spacious, open-plan and newly refurbished offices within the Federal Mills Business Precinct, you’ll feel right at home surrounded by lush indoor greenery and forward-thinking colleagues representing diverse backgrounds. We want you to become an integral part of our growing accounting team and make a difference with us.
You will be a key team member working with our clients, providing business services and tax, including: Company, Trust, Self-Managed Super Funds (SMSFs), and Individual Returns; reviewing and assisting our junior team members and bookkeeping teams; overseeing Payroll Tax, SGC and ensuring our clients can concentrate on running their business seamlessly. High-level technical knowledge is an advantage, but not required.

So, what does a day in the life look like as a Senior Accountant? While we can guarantee no two days will be the same, this could be you…
Preparing various financial reports for our clients, including financial statements, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasts;
Managing the preparation and lodgement of tax returns and other regular filings while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations;
Provide accounting advice and support to other teams within our group;
Prepare income tax returns for individuals with minimal supervision; and
Identifying extra assistance as required by clients and bringing thoughts to your manager.
Depending on your experience, you may also be:
Analysing and interpreting clients’ financial reports and discussing the client’s results and position with managers, directors and clients;
Applying expert knowledge of tax regulations in areas such as capital gains, fringe benefits, insolvency, GST, PAYG withholding, PAYG instalments, fuel tax, etc.; and
Reviewing the work of junior accounting and bookkeeping team members while leading and mentoring them in their roles.
Key Selection Criteria
Completion of a Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent;
Completion or working to complete CPA or CA studies;
Skills with numbers and analytics acumen;
Understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices;
Excellent problem-solving skills;
Timely management and priority management skills;
Ability to analyse the client’s needs holistically and identify any risk, threat or opportunity for the client and refer internally where additional legal, financial planning or other support would be beneficial to the client;
High level of attention to detail;
Ability to recognise an unknown topic and where to go to complete research related to your position within a reasonable timeframe;
Experience using Microsoft applications and exposure to general accounting and internal software applications;
Ability to learn and take on ad-hoc requests, handling more than one job at once;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; and
Full working rights to work in Australia.

SMSF ACCOUNTANT

Joining our SMSF Accounting Team, this full-time position is right for a dynamic, person-centred person who is committed to excellence and detail in the work that they do. You will be the go-to team member for new and exciting clients, and be a wizard in liaising with the ATO and other professionals where needed.

So, what does a typical day in the life of an SMSF Accountant look like? While we can guarantee no two days will be the same, this could be you…
You will analyse the client’s needs holistically and identify any risk, threat or opportunity of the client and refer internally where additional legal, financial planning or other support is required;
Management of client super fund data entry and reconciliation;
Liaising directly with clients – in person, by telephone and via email;
Preparation of annual statements of accounts and supporting schedules to assist clients with compliance requirements and internal decision-making in a timely manner;
Strong understanding and ability to analyse financial reports produced;
Identify and attend to calculations and reporting around compliance events and obligations such as capital gains, GST, PAYG instalments etc.;
Careful completion and revision of work assigned to the audit stage, ensuring all documents are saved for easy access at review and that all options around any queries have been strongly considered;
Completion of work assigned, within the allotted time frame;
Attending to audit review points, if applicable, in a timely manner and ensuring all points are addressed;
Presentation to clients with your manager where required;
Minimum of 80% billable hours work completed each week. Adherence to individual KPIs that have been set by your manager;
Accurate recoding of timesheets for time spent on relevant job, training and any other event and finalised before leaving each day;
Undertake miscellaneous projects relevant to the position as required from time to time;
Follow internal procedures as directed by your manager; and
Good technical SMSF knowledge
Key Selection Criteria
Skill with numbers and an analytical acumen;
Excellent understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices;
Excellent problem-solving skills;
Demonstrated time management and priority management skills;
High level of attention to detail and developed organisational skills;
Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook and general exposure to general accounting and internal software applications;
Experience with using Class accounting software;
Ability to learn to take on ad-hoc requests and handle more than one job at once;
Ability to carry out high-level research on an unknown topic related to this position within a reasonable time frame;
Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
Completed a Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent;
Completion of CPA or CA studies or currently studying;
Minimum three years of SMSF experience; and
Full working rights to work in Australia.

LEGAL
JUNIOR LAWYER
Are you someone who wants to cement your place in the legal industry with a broad knowledge of different specialty areas?
We’ve got an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join our North Geelong-based progressive and multidisciplinary company within our legal team. We are on the hunt for a junior lawyer to join our highly skilled, collaborative and supportive legal team.
Working from our spacious, open-plan, light-filled and newly refurbished office in the Federal Mills Business Precinct, you will find yourself at home surrounded by luscious indoor greenery, forward-thinking team members and real people from real walks of life.
Joining our growing legal team, this is a full-time position for a dynamic person-centred person who is committed to making a difference. You will be the go-to team member for assisting our Family Law, Wills and Estates and Conveyancing departments, be a wizard in drafting and preparing documents and provide the highest level of client satisfaction, all while supporting the heads of departments.

Assisting our Family Law, Wills and Estates and Conveyancing teams;
Liaising with clients and third-party stakeholders;
Drafting and preparing a wide range of court documents, including affidavits, statements of claim and submissions;
Drafting and preparing a wide range of Wills and Estate Planning relevant documents;
Drafting and preparing legal documents, contracts, and agreements related to Conveyancing;
Attending client meetings, mediations and court hearings; and
General office duties as required.
Key Selection Criteria
Minimum of 1 – 2 years of working experience in a law firm is desirable; however, first-time lawyers will also be considered;
Hold a current Victorian Legal Practising Certificate;
Have a proactive approach to learning and adapting to changes in our practising areas of laws and regulations;
Knowledge and experience using PEXA, Duties Online, and LEAP (or similar platforms) is preferable;
Strong work ethic, a keen analytical mind, and unwavering determination to succeed;
Strong problem-solving and communication skills; and
Full working rights to work in Australia
