Matthew Crosthwaite

Growing up in Geelong since the early 2000s, Matthew attended and graduated from Kardinia International College.  He was lucky enough to represent his school at several different events over the years, before entering the workforce and pursuing a number of different career paths before finding his home at Canny Group.

Matthew is no stranger to the Canny Group office, having been around our office since his teenage years, he was called upon to do several different jobs over the years.  Finally, in 2023, he was asked to become a permanent member of our legal team, as he was needed once again to tackle a project.

Joining Canny Legal as our Deed Clerk, he has been entrusted with maintaining documents, some of which date back well over 100 years, and converting them into digital formats so that they can be preserved and safely stored for years to come.

This position has since evolved into become a Data Administrator, as the need to properly catalogue these documents become clear.  Due to this, Matthew has become the go to member of our legal team when ascertaining any of the historical documents.

With the nature of the job, Matthew has scarcely any contact with our clients, but continues to enjoy his job as.  Like his love for puzzles has shown, figuring out ways different documents are related, leads to many varied and interesting discoveries, resulting in an interconnected timeline of hundreds of people throughout the years past.

Abiding by the philosophy of “measure twice, cut once” it has served effectively in creating and managing the ever-grown Canny Legal database.
