Frequently Asked Questions

There are so many questions + maybe we can help to answer some of them for you!

WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR PLAN MANAGEMENT?

Every NDIS participant is eligible and can request to have Plan Management funding included in their plan.

WHAT DOES A PLAN MANAGER DO?

A Plan Manager supports you to manage the funds in your NDIS plan and ensure your plan is implemented and that the funds are being spent in-line with your plan. They will do this by providing you with information and advice on how to maximise and manage the funds in your NDIS plan, process and pay the invoices from your service providers, and provide you with regular financial statements of expenditure and balances of your funds.

HOW MUCH DOES PLAN MANAGEMENT COST?

There is no cost to you. Plan Management is funded as a stated support under the Capacity Building Supports + Improved Life Choices (Choice & Control) category and does not impact the funds in your other support categories.

WHAT ARE THE OPTIONS FOR MANAGING MY NDIS FUNDS?

You have three options for managing your NDIS funds:

  1. Plan Managed
  2. Self-Managed
  3. NDIA Managed

You can also choose a combination of these options.

HOW DO I INCLUDE PLAN MANAGEMENT IN MY PLAN?

If Plan Management is in your current NDIS Plan under Capacity Building Supports and Improved Life Choices (Choice & Control) you can contact Canny Plan Management now.  If you don’t have Plan Management in your current plan, you can request that it be included in your next plan at your Plan Review meeting.  Can’t wait that long? You can contact the NDIS and ask for an early Plan Review to request adding Plan Management.  Need advice or help with this?  Contact us and we will work on this together.

CAN I SWITCH PLAN MANAGERS MID PLAN?

Absolutely and it’s simple.  Once you have signed up with your new Plan Manager, you just need to let your current Plan Manager know that you are moving to a new Plan Manager.  You don’t need to let them know why – it’s up to you.  You will also need to let your service providers know to send their invoices to your new Plan Manager.  If you move to Canny Plan Management we can do this on your behalf.  Contact us now if you are thinking about or want to move to Canny Plan Management.
