Tell us the story – your story, of how you came to be working in the disability support sector?
I first entered the disability sector back in 2019. I studied at The Gordon and completed my Cert IV in Youth Work. On the back end of my studies, I was lucky enough to land my first job in the industry and for three years gained some valuable experience.
I was originally hired as the “music man”. Being a musician my whole life, it made sense to offer this service to NDIS Participants. I soon realised the importance of social connection and how much my NDIS Participants enjoyed just having someone to talk to. So, I decided to put two and two together and that’s when Co-Healing Support Servies came to life.
What was your “lightbulb moment”? The moment you realised that Co-Healing Support Services would be your footprint on the world?
I know I wanted to make an impact within my community in some way or another. After gaining some experience and having multiple conversations with mentors and friends, I knew this was something I needed to do!
Everybody has something they love; what do you love about your ‘job’?
Nothing brings me more joy than seeing my NDIS Participants’ faces light up after having a belly laugh together or just simply having fun. Seeing how much people can grow in confidence and slowly develop positive change in their lives is what I love about this job.
What do you find is the main reason that keeps you getting up every morning, heading out the door and off to work?
I often remind myself that every day is a blessing. Once you find your purpose, goal, dream or however you want to label it, it makes it easier to get up every morning.
All I know is that I enjoy creating positive change in people’s lives. Find what gets you ticking and go for it!
Tell us your secret… What are some of the little joys that you bring to your clients who trust you with helping them live comfortable and well-supported lives?
I focus on building rapport and establishing meaningful professional friendships over time. I want my NDIS Participants to feel comfortable and safe, knowing that they’re in good hands. Once those foundations are in place you can really see the positive impact that makes on individuals.
If we were to spend a day in your shoes – what would that look like?
Most mornings I try to get to the gym just to get my body moving. If time is on my side I’ll practise some mindfulness, enjoy some breakfast and then get behind the computer and do some admin work. I’ll then start my working day with my NDIS Participants which could involve anything from peer mentoring to music services or community access. After the working day is done, I’ll get home and walk the dogs with my fiancé. Finish the night off with some dinner and binge-watch our favourite TV shows. Over the weekend I perform gigs at weddings or various venues around Geelong and the Surf Coast.
What do you consider a good day at work for you?
Every day is a good day at work! I feel very blessed to be able to provide and grow a business that is making a positive impact in the community. Sure, everyone can have their good and bad days but knowing that you’re doing your part is all that matters to me.
Tell us about your focus and your vibe – what do you do that sets you apart from the other NDIS Providers?
Co-Healings’ main focus is to build a tailored and personal connection with our NDIS Participants.
Making everyone feel at home and focusing on a positive attitude, being reliable and showing a genuine interest in each individual. Having music as a tool also sets us apart from other providers. This is a great way to break the ice and let our NDIS Participants express themselves, while also having fun. We’re also a family-run business! My partner, Bridge, is a very passionate, loving lady who has already helped me grow our business. I’m very lucky to have her by my side.
If you could give three tips to NDIS Participants who are looking for support services, what would they be?
- Ask questions about their services: seeking references or testimonials from other NDIS Participants can give you a powerful insight;
- Understand your needs and goals: this will ensure that they can offer the appropriate services to meet your requirements; and
- Research and Compare Providers: look into various support service providers to understand what they offer.

What kind of support have you received from Canny Group since joining forces with them as your accountant?
Since Co-Healing has started up, we have utilised most of the services that Canny Group have to offer. Accounting, Legal Advice, Bookkeeping and even marketing! They have been fantastic and it’s nice knowing that they’re there every step of the way.
