Gabrielle Andersen

DIRECTOR + PRINCIPAL LAWYER | Canny Insight

SUPERPOWER // Remaining calm under pressure + finding solutions

Gabrielle has over twelve years of experience as a commercial law solicitor, spending the first half of her career in litigation and the second half in general commercial and business law.  She was given amazing insight into the fast-paced offshore world while working in the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands and Guernsey from 2011 to 2014, and most enjoyed her time understanding the nuances of high-stakes trust litigation while working as a litigator in a Guernsey law firm.

This unique experience has provided Gabrielle with a very technical awareness of the issues that can be faced when deficient commercial deeds and agreements are used and has given her a particular foresight when drafting commercial documents.

Having grown up on a sheep farm in the Southern Tablelands in New South Wales, Gabrielle knows what it’s like to run a family business.  Gabrielle has also herself, owned a small business, when prior to moving to Canny Insight, she operated as a freelance solicitor while growing her family and renovating her home in Geelong.  She is therefore very aware of the pressures faced by small business owners and how having the right advice from someone you trust is absolutely crucial in growing a successful business.  For Gabrielle, a full-service firm like Canny Group was the perfect home for her broad commercial and business expertise.

Clear communication, knowing where to look for answers and having a problem-solving mindset are skills that set Gabrielle apart as a lawyer and provide her clients with peace of mind in the ever-changing and complex legislative and regulatory landscape faced by the Australian business community.  Gabrielle is engaging and approachable and aims to reassure and put clients at ease in solving their legal issues.

During her downtime, Gabrielle loves heading to the beach, the Geelong Waterfront or nearby Pakington Street with her three young children, husband and Labrador.

Gabrielle is understanding, pragmatic, and experienced, and here to help you with all of your commercial and business law needs.
